THE MUSICAL MESSIAH is divided into 12 acts;
1. The Word became flesh
2. Three names of Jesus
3. The Miracles of Jesus
4. The adulterous woman
5. Parables told by Jesus
6. Two More Names of Jesus
7. Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman
8. Jesus in Bethany
9. Jesus teaches his disciples to pray
10. The Death and Resurrection of Jesus
11. The Ascension
12. Epilogue

The 24 songs in total are provided with a Dutch syllable, as well as all connecting texts are in Dutch. The complete work THE MUSICAL MESSIAH lasts, including a break, two and a half hours. It is possible to shorten the work, for example by omitting acts or songs. For example, Acts 10 and 11 are very suitable to highlight around Easter. All 28 songs can also be sung separately.

In order to make it feasible for as many choirs as possible, the set-up (mise-en-scene, staging and clothing) has been kept simple. The soloist playing Jesus wears white clothing. The choir and the other soloists are advised to wear black clothing. The musical has been specially arranged for polyphonic choirs (SATB with soloists) with band (drums, bass, guitar and keys).
