General: A song that lets the wonder of Jesus' coming and His sacrifice speak in music must be special. 'The darkness disappeared (His blood)' certainly is. The composition by Phil Barlow, Ray Goudie and Steve Barlow for mixed choirs has a beautiful contrast with the stately chorus and the contemplative verses that reflects the mystery of God's sacrifice. There is mystery, but especially liberation and gratitude. In this way the song builds up to that wonder and joy: 'O my Savior, that is what You did for me.'
