Celebrate is an Easter cantata written for SATB, organ and narrator. The cantata is entirely focused on the resurrection and consciously emphasizes the victory achieved. It is therefore a festive chain of beautiful pearls that will let the light shine on Easter morning in an impressive way. After the Passiontide, in which we focused on the suffering, persecution and death, it is now time to celebrate and gratefully accept the gift of Christ. Although you can of course limit yourself to the song selected for this catalogue, it is certainly worth serious consideration to study the entire cantata. The seven titles each highlight a different aspect of Easter morning and thus form a complete palette of the resurrection of Easter. What stands out throughout the cantata are the truly beautiful harmonies that are not immediately difficult. Unison parts, harmonies and echoes alternate in a creative way and thus create a beautiful variation in sound. It is also striking how other old songs have been incorporated into several titles. The opening piece is based on a 17th century Dutch hymn. Easter: What begins with a call to put aside your fear and sorrow - after all, a new day has dawned - then takes you along in a grateful song of praise: Praise the risen Lord; the gates to paradise are open! We set out and walk in faith because Jesus says: blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. The battle has been fought, the victory achieved, the victory song is already sounding. Praise Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
